Lunchtime in London... Subway or Pret?

The usual decision. Subway or Pret? Subway, the American chain, seems to be somewhat disliked by my office colleagues. Come on... It's "fresh" and Jared endorsed it for about 4 years straight. There happens to be one right below my office.

On the other hand, there is the very french sounding Pret a Manger across the street. It's French for "ready to eat." Despite the English folk's dislike for those across the channel, this chain seems to thrive. According to Wikipedia, there are 118 of these in London. Here's the kicker... McDonald's owns a 33% stake in the chain.

Meal deal: Sub of the day, crisps, and a drink for £2.99 Or you can throw the change up pitch and get a cookie instead of crisps

Pret - roughly £4-£5 for your visit. There is funky lounge music playing inside... and everyone seems very serious in there. Though, I remain a fan.
